engines

In the near future, I will be starting to build Chevy engines that I will sell to anyone who is interested. There will be basic packages that I will build and will also build any engine that a certain person wants on a special order type basis. Every engine will be put together carefully and correctly with as little friction as possible throughout the moving parts. In addition to the engine, I am working on getting a local shop to dyno every engine that is built and the results will be sold with the engine. My goal at the moment is to build 305-400ci engines, but may build some that are a little under 305ci to produce a high revving engine, or little over 400ci if I can get hold of the correct engine blocks needed to use the crankshaft with the 3.875" or 4.000" stroke. This could make a nice 420+ci small block. All regular (non special order) engines will be built to accomodate a roller cam and lifters, and will also use roller rockers at a 1.6:1 ratio. This will allow me to use a very nice high performance cam that i have found and entered into a simulated dyno program and it produces spectacular results with just 13 degrees of overlap. This should create a mild to moderate idle with great low rpm torque and head-turning high rpm horsepower. Shortly after I begin building engines, I will create three or more for myself. These will be built using the same care as if I were building an engine for YOU! My goal here is not to make money and get rich, I want people with whatever car it may be, to have all the power that they've ever wanted at a reasonable price. I personally think that a 550hp 400ci small block chevy for around $5000 is not a bad deal. Now you can probably find an engine out there for less, but ponder this...... Was it built by hand, by someone who cares about getting every last horsepower and ft-lb of torque out of it??? Was it dynoed and was the dyno sheet sent to the new owner with the engine??? Does the builder use his engines in his cars??? Well, I do, and that's the difference. I will have one of my engines in a) a 1968 Porsche 911S. b) a 1972 Porsche 911T. and c) a 1984 Corvette L98. These three cars need engines first, afterwards, I will try to purchase a 1996 Corvette LT4 and modify the engine in that to produce upwards of 600hp. This is just something to think about when debating whether or not I really believe in what I do.
